PROJECT #1
Build an Orphanage - $50,000

Maybe your church would like to take this on as a "mercy outreach project." Maybe a couple churches from your area could do it together.
Your church could develop a program to raise the Old Mud\Dung Orphanage in Orthoro - 8 boys and 1 girl lived in this hut for 8 years. money over a five year period. Three churches and a two year program, would end up to be about $8400 a year.
Sure, it is a large amount of money - $50,000. However, our gifts go very far in Kenya.
This is the cost to do the following the following,

The orphans live in such poor conditions, especially in the slums. Many grandparents and great-grandparents try to step in and care for the children.

"Sibling families"  do their best to care for the young ones. A sibling family is when children are left to  take care of younger children (right).
Many parents are dying by the time they are thirty years old. When you travel around the country, ...

PROJECT #3
Sustain an Orphanage - $9,000 \ yearELCK Orphanage in Orthoro, Kenya

That is $750 \ month. Your congregation or possibly a couple of congregations can join together to sustain an existing orphanage. When you sustain an orphanage you are doing far more than supporting the 28 or so orphans who live in a specific orphanage.

The gifts from this project provide food, clothing, shelter, education, and hope for the children who live at the orphanage as well as those orphans who live in the area. Many children seek help from the orphanage and the local Lutheran...
