Project 1 Build an Orphanage (continued)

... 8 boys lived for many years. Some of them lived there for up to 7 years and didn't know anything but this home. The pastor in the middle, with reddish sweater, opened the orphanage himself.

After working with LCMS World Relief, the ELCK was able to build the orphanage (right) and call New Orphanage in Orthoro - 100 yards from Old Orphanage another pastor. The pastor in the blue shirt is now the pastor who runs the orphanage and now the orphanage is a home for 24-28 boys.

Six of the boys who moved from the dung\mud hut to the new home at the right still live at the orphanage. What a difference!

Friends of Mercy's AIDS Orphans - Build an Orphanage, project is partnering with LCMS World Relief to raise awareness of the need for more orphanages. LCMS WR will match the funds Friends of Mercy is able to raise. That means that every dollar you give is doubled to support the work of building orphanages through the ELCK.
